What are the criteria to have a domestic helper in Cyprus?
In order to employ domestic staff from a non-EU country, the employer must meet specific income criteria, which differ depending on the category they fall under.

The criteria are as follows:
Families with an annual gross total family income of at least:
• €24,000 without children.
• €30,000 with a dependent child.
• €36,000 with two dependent children.
• €42,000 with three or more dependent children.
Single-parent families with an annual gross family income of at least:
• €24,000 with one dependent child.
• €30,000 with two dependent children.
• €36,000 with three or more dependent children.
Single people with an annual gross total income of at least €24,000.
People over 65 years of age with an annual gross family income of at least:
• €24,000 for a couple.
• €18,000 for monasteries.
Exemptions of employers from the income criteria:
• Persons certified by the Department of Social Integration of Persons with Disabilities.
• EEE beneficiaries.
• Beneficiaries of Low-Pensioners' Benefit and Disability Pension Beneficiaries.
